The problem and the solution
We were instructed by our client to inspect, validate and manage repairs to a policyholder’s property following impact damage.
We surveyed the extent of damage as a result of the insured peril, managed expectations of the policyholder with respect to the extent of works due to the peril and prepared a detailed scope of repair.
Due to the location of the damage, removal and replacement of the roof was required.
The policyholder was keen to ensure a match of the tiles across the terrace of garages where visible from the properties.
Working with the contractor we were able to salvage tiles from the rear to use across the front, thus avoiding the requirement to replace the full front face of the roof, thereby saving considerable cost for Insurers and disruption to the adjacent policyholders properties.
