The problem and the solution
We were instructed by our clients to assist with the validation and cost assessment for proposed repairs following an Escape of Water in a substantial Grade II listed property.
The policyholder’s appointed representatives had prepared a scope of work and obtained tenders for the repairs, however, the handling loss adjuster had some concerns over scope and cost.
We attended site, undertook a detailed survey and then were able to provide a detailed analysis of costs presented, highlighting areas of cost saving opportunity.
After analysis savings of circa £85K were identified set against an original proposal of £243K.
Positive Outcomes:
- Cost savings for Insurers identified of £85K (35% of original claim).
